Thanksgiving 365 Days

I’m thankful for Thanksgiving, but what about the other 364 days of the year?

I keep a “gratitude journal,” where I list 5-10 things a day I’m grateful for. It gets harder after you run through the “home, bathroom, shower, bed, job and food,” staples. But if you keep it up, gratitude changes things…

It makes the smallest things lights in your day. You learn to look for things to be grateful for, first to fill out your list, then, just because you start noticing.

I’m thankful today for friends who invite me to be part of their family and to join them. I’m thankful for a home-cooked meal, for time to take off and sleep, for work that waits, and keeps me in an apartment. If you can’t think of 10 things to be thankful for today, think of the millions who are homeless on Thanksgiving, and the rest of the year, and it’s really not too hard to come up with things. Hoping you and yours have a great Thanksgiving, wherever you are, however you spend it.
